The Concept
Catering to clients' needs and intentions who like to host large gatherings with friends and families, one of the bedrooms was converted into an opened social dining space. This opening of the space appeals to the non-private space to be visually enlarged, allowing big groups of people to gather in the same place. There are multiple interaction points in this spatial configuration, such as the dry kitchen, living and dining area, platform seating, even the tv console.
The client likes the colonial element - wainscot, fusing it into a modernised theme with concealing feature that plays a big part in blending the materiality of the elements, which allows the overall design to look sleek and elegant. Nothing too loud, nothing too overwhelming.
