Humanise Community

211A - MARKET SQUARE.jpg

This project deals with the social-cultural level between individuals within a young housing estate. With the masses becoming passive, the intimacies between neighbours are lost as they move to a new neighbourhood. It is also observed that the time to relieve the new community relationship is slow and gradual. In modernisation, the void deck is a waste of space despite it can be utilised for economic purposes. However, in socialisation, it is vital for knowledge, contact, and stimulation.

Hence, this project aims to relieve the neighbourliness by designing a prototype situation within the public housing void decks with modular furniture that can be manipulated according to the users' needs and desired functions. It will transform over time to encourage new usages by new people, energising the site at all times and fit into contemporary realms. This can then be encouraged and replicated to other void decks.
